Environmental Groups Say Oakland Can and Should Ban Coal Exports

Oakland should reject a proposed waterfront coal export terminal because of the environmental and health impacts of shipping and burning coal. And the city has the legal authority to ban coal exports, according to Earthjustice, the Sierra Club, San Francisco Baykeeper, West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, and Communities for a Better Environment.
