Help Fight Invasive Kelp in the Bay – Two Volunteer Events This Weekend
This Sunday, 9 am to noon Baykeeper is partnering with Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) to stop the invasion of the Asian kelp Undaria pinnatifida, which has spread throughout marinas in San Francisco Bay and threatens the local ecosystem. Volunteers are needed to walk the docks of these marinas, identifying the invasive kelp and directing divers who remove the kelp at the roots. Please volunteer your time at one of two removal events this weekend! RSVP to SERC at marineinvaders@gmail.com or call (650) 380-5000. Read more information about the spread of Undaria in San Francisco Bay. |

Help make sure this land is protected from development by attending a public meeting this Tuesday evening, when the city will accept public comments on the environmental review process for the proposed Saltworks project.
