Baykeeper Secures Agreement to Reduce Millbrae Sewage Spills
San Francisco Baykeeper has successfully settled our lawsuit against the City of Millbrae for spilling thousands of gallons of raw sewage in violation of the Clean Water Act. Under our agreement, Millbrae will significantly upgrade its sewer system to curb sewage spills to local creeks and the Bay.
This is the latest in Baykeeper's series of successful lawsuits to address a protracted regional problem of sewage spills in San Mateo County cities, including San Carlos and Burlingame; we are continuing to press for improvements in San Bruno, South San Francisco and the West Bay Sanitation District through our ongoing lawsuits.
Baykeeper Continues Gulf Oil Spill Response Initiative
Baykeeper continues to work with the Waterkeeper Alliance and the Gulf Coast Waterkeepers to assist with the response to the ongoing BP oil disaster. We are also consulting with U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer to provide our technical expertise on three new pieces of oil spill response legislation that aim to improve accountability for the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association.
A tenuous cap has been placed on the gushing well, but already as much as 325 million gallons of oil have been released into the Gulf. Our sister Waterkeepers on the Gulf Coast are now coping with hundreds of miles of oiled shorelines, severely damaged habitats and injured or dead wildlife. Please support their efforts by making a gift today at www.saveourgulf.org.

Dan Rojales and Chad Hasegawa present an art show devoted to the marine environment and benefiting San Francisco Baykeeper. Both artists grew up in Hawaii and have lived in San Francisco for 10 years, where the Bay and ocean provide inspiration for Dan's fish sculptures and Chad's abstract paintings.
The artists will generously donate 10% of sales of their works to Baykeeper. Stop by to enjoy a live DJ and $2 pints, and support San Francisco Baykeeper!

The Baykeeper Boat Gets a Non-Toxic Paint Job
The Baykeeper boat recently underwent some routine maintenance and cleaning, in addition to receiving a brand new paint job with non-toxic hull paint. Most hull paints contain copper, zinc, bisphenol-A or other toxins that leach into the water and harm the marine environment. Our new green hull paint is an anti-fouling non-copper epoxy that's easy to maintain with regular hull cleaning.
Now the Baykeeper boat is back on the water and ready to patrol!
